Jerome Simpson has yet to sign with an NFL team this offseason, and it may take even longer to do so now that the league has slapped him with a suspension.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Simpson received a three-game suspension for this upcoming season.

The NFL made the right call here, but it's quite unfortunate for Simpson. Per the Associated Press, Simpson had visits with the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams. And of course you can't count out his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals, re-signing him.
Now that he'll be out for the first three games, it could force some or all of these teams to rethink their stance on Simpson.
Then again, they had to know Simpson was going to get some type of punishment given the circumstances.
Last fall, Simpson had roughly two pounds of marijuana shipped to his house, which resulted in his arrest. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail, a three-year probation, forced to do 200 hours of community service and pay a $7,500 fine plus court fees.
It's uncertain where Simpson will play in the upcoming season, but we do know that we won't see him on the field for the first three games, which is a better punishment that it could have been considering it appeared as though he was selling illegal drugs in addition to playing in the NFL.
